Created by Alexander Smail, Cocoon is a collection of essays from writers about the albums that have helped them through the COVID-19 lockdown and other difficult times. The breadth of music featured in the zine reflects the varied experiences of the writers, covering everything from The Story So Far to Solange to Yellow Magic Orchestra. Writers have contributed to NME, The Guardian, i-D, gal-dem, Rolling Stone, The Face, Crack, Vogue, Pitchfork, Resident Advisor, Huck, GQ, and more.
All profits from sales of the first two issues of the zine, which totalled over £2000, were donated to Scottish Women's Aid, The Black Curriculum and We Belong.
Issue 3 was released in December 2022.
